Examines such issues as sexual morality and abortion, capital punishment, sexism, racism and affirmative action, censorship, privacy, drug abuse and drug laws, economic distribution and justice, and consumption and scarcity of natural resources.

THIS COURSE MEETS THE INTERDISCIPLINARY REQUIREMENT.

In this course we will critically examine several important issues in bioethics that can affect each one of us in profound ways: research on human embryonic stem cells, genetic enhancements, race-based medicine, personalized medicine and longevity. The course will provide you with the tools in critical thinking that you will need to think through these issues on your own.
