This Policy defines violations of academic integrity and outlines the potential penalties for such violations and the process for adjudicating alleged violations. This Academic Integrity Policy applies to all schools and academic units of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.

We recognize that students may encounter unforeseen and challenging circumstances that are beyond their control. If such situations have affected your ability to officially cancel your course registration or withdraw within the designated deadline, we encourage you to consider submitting an appeal. The deadline for the submission of appeals is March 31, 2025. For further details, please refer to our Appeal Policy.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, commonly referred to as FERPA or the Buckley Amendment, is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of a student’s educational record. FERPA applies to all educational agencies or institutions that receive federal funding for any program administered by the Secretary of Education. FERPA also applies to private entities that contract to perform services for the University that it would otherwise undertake to perform on its own; in such cases, the private entity must observe the same FERPA protections applicable to the University. Registration after the start of classes requires the completion and submission of the Late Registration Form and approval from an instructor, Chair, or Dean. To access the Late Registration Form visit the Summer & Winter Session's Application Portal. The Office of Lifelong Learning will request the instructor, Chair, or Dean's approval on your behalf. Late registration request decisions will be communicated to students via the application portal message center. If approved, students must pay their term bill immediately.

A tuition refund may apply if your course is cancelled by the University, if you cancel your course registration before the start of the session, or if you withdraw from a course during the partial refund period. It is the student’s responsibility to check their account to verify their registration record is accurate. Click here for full refund information and deadlines.

All students that have registered for an upcoming semester or session are required to confirm their enrollment by completing RU Here. Students that do not complete RU Here by the posted deadline will be removed from their Winter Session course(s). RU Here dates and instructions are available here.

Access to nearly all Rutgers IT services requires the use of a unique network ID, known as your NetID. Students, faculty, and staff can manage their NetIDs, email addresses, passwords, and other Rutgers IT services at the NetID website. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR VISITING STUDENTS: Payment of tuition and fees is required to activate a NetID and access Rutgers University electronic services.

Any student who has registered and paid for their winter term is eligible for a student RU ID card. A Rutgers ID is required for access to the computer labs, Golden Dome gym, Dana Library, and other facilities. Visit myRun for complete details

An RUID number is an identifier for all Rutgers University students. It is a nine-digit number using "00" in the 4th and 5th number positions, except for Rutgers Biomedical Health & Sciences (RBHS) students, whose numbers begin with the letter A. If you do not know your RUID, both Visiting and current students can view detailed look-up instructions and information here. In accordance with University procedures, no student or former student may obtain a transcript of academic record or register for future sessions or semesters while under financial obligation to Rutgers University.

Rutgers University is not responsible for the number or nature of credit(s) allowed by another institution for any courses taken during Winter Session.
Course credit transfer policies vary by school. Visiting students who wish to transfer RU-Newark Winter Session course credit to another institution must verify transferability with their home school before registering.

By registering for class(es), you are agreeing to a legally binding contract to pay all tuition and fees assessed to my student account and all additional costs and expenses related to your enrollment at Rutgers University (“Rutgers”). If your balance is not paid, you accept the responsibility to pay all collection costs, which may include but is not limited to costs of collections, attorney's fees and litigation costs. Please be advised that if your aid is reduced or if your account charges increase, even after receiving a refund check, you are obligated to pay the outstanding balance on your account.
