The Office Summer & Winter Sessions is committed to providing distinguished education opportunities to our Rutgers students, visiting students, and members of the community. If it were not for your participation, our students would not be able to advance their education during the summer and winter session.

Canvas
The official learning management system for Rutgers University–Newark, Canvas is available for all RU–N courses, including online, hybrid, and the more traditional face-to-face format. Most faculty will use Canvas to share content, such as syllabi, readings, announcements, email, and even audio and video. Even if you are taking a face-to-face class, you may also be required to go to Canvas to submit assignments and take online exams, and a number of faculty members will use Canvas to post grades and provide feedback.

RU ID Cards
The RU ID card is the official photo identification card issued to faculty, staff, students, and guests on all Rutgers University campuses. This unified RU ID card serves as the primary form of identity verification throughout the university. Once your winter appointment has been confirmed and you have activated your NetID and Rutgers email, you will have the opportunity to submit a photo online. Cards will be printed and made available for pick-up at the Photo ID booth on the 3rd Floor of Blumenthal Hall. The new RU ID card design and photo submission process will be replacing the RUID Connection Card, however, old cards are still valid and will continue to support all University-related services.
Parking Permits
To purchase a parking permit, please visit the website of the Office of Commuter Transit & Parking Services,. The vehicle's DMV registration, a parking application form (to be completed by the academic department you are teaching for) and your RU ID card is required. Please be prepared to make payment.
